The model of the Agbar building in Barcelona was designed by the French architect Jean Nouvel, with the participation of B720 Fermín Vázquez Architects. The construction of the skyscraper was influenced in great measure by some of the most outstanding symbols of the Catalan culture: first of all, Antonio Gaudi, with a weighty reference to the Sagrada Familia and Mount Montserrat. However, the design of the building is original, and from the first minute of its opening provoked a lot of discussions.
This point of interest in Barcelona is 154 meters high – 34 floors, 4 of which are underground. 2 floors, located under the ground and they are allocated to the auditorium, accommodating 315 people. The other are parking.
There are offices in the upper floors, 3 of which are assigned for technical tasks: one for building maintenance, the second for various applications, and the third for dining. Directly under the dome is a terrace.

The whole illuminated Agbar skyscraper in Barcelona at night is a truly amazing sight. The tower has more than 4,500 lighting devices that operate autonomously from each other, using LED technology, which projects the order of light effects on the whole facade.
This process is controlled by a computer system that designs 16 million colors and provides independent transitions without unnecessary pauses, generating striking lighting effects.
The effectiveness of this technology makes it possible to work lighting for an hour with costs of only about € 6. The Agbar building in Barcelona is built with using environmentally friendly materials, and the 4400 windows – a special technology, protecting from the merciless sun of the capital of Catalonia.
The Agbar Tower in Barcelona was erected by the French architect Alain Robert. The name Torre Agbar was fixed by Aigües de Barcelona, it was patented and acted as a commercial institution used as the trademark of alcoholic beverages in 2007.
There are only offices in the tower now, and you can’t see it inside. However, it is possible to visit the lobby.
The future of the Agbar tower in Barcelona is already linked to the hotel business, because it was bought by the American group Hyatt and intends to turn into one of the chic hotels in the near future.
